A lesser known brand in the US, Miele has been a sizable washing machine player in Europe for quite some time. Products include front load washers positioned as high end machines designed with longevity in mind. Miele washers certainly aren’t cheap and range from approximately $1,600 to $2,500 list.
Given Miele generally bland styling, limited functionality and brand recognition it becomes a less desirable choice in a very competitive market. After significant research and comparison, the editors have found limited value points for this brand washer.

Miele Washing Machine Strengths Review:
#1) Gentle: Miele has one interesting design attribute and that’s the stainless steel honeycomb Drum which was designed to clean deeper while reducing wear on clothing over time. Samsung actually has a similar technology with its diamond-shaped drum pattern.
Miele Washing Machine Weaknesses Review:
#1) Small: Given their price, you’d expect larger capacity machines. Most machines are only around 4.0 cubic feet in volume.#2) Limited Cycles: Most machines only have around 10 wash cycles. While there is something to be said about simplifying the wash process, this is particularly simple given average price point. Generally, higher priced machines offer larger capacity which equates to less time spent doing laundry and more efficient power/water use.
#3) Styling: For a company that tries to differentiate it’s product on the basis of style, we believe they have fallen significantly short. Miele washers in general look bland and offer minimal finish options.
#4) Brand Recognition: A lesser known brand by most may make it more difficult to find repair services or parts. This may result in higher repair prices if service is required. In most cases resell value will be very low. At the time this article was published there were next to no user reviews available.
#5) Expensive: Value is questionable at these price points. Many other manufactures offer greater capacity, more features and options like steam cleaning at these prices.
Conclusion:
There are too many quality, feature packed washer on the US market to consider paying a premium for a Miele washer. If you’ve owned a Miele before, are brand loyal and can afford to pay a premium then buy another Miele. For others, be sure to check out other brands like LG or Samsung instead.
